Have you ever wondered if the pedicure bowls are clean? Curious what it takes for it to be considered 'sanitized'? Allow us to shine some light on the sanitation situation! For the safety of each guest, we NEVER reuse nail files or buffers. In fact, you're welcome to take these home if you'd like, just let your technician know. Otherwise, we throw them away after each use and sanitize the remaining instruments and the water bowls. As soon as a guest is done having their feet soaked and rinsed, we scrub the bowls with a hard-bristle brush and antibacterial soap to remove any surface germs, skin cells, etc. Next, we run water and hospital-grade disinfectant through the bowl and pump system for at least 10 minutes.
Each reusable metal instrument is washed, dried, and sealed in an air-tight bag. It's then placed in a UV sanitizer for 10 minutes before it's ready for the next guest. It may sound like a lot of work, but it's the ONLY way to guarantee proper sanitation! If you have any questions about our process or something you've seen in our spa, please leave a comment or send us an email and we'd be happy to respond.
